Makassar, August 18, 2025 – The Aquaculture Study Program, Faculty of Marine Science and Fisheries, Hasanuddin University, conducted a Curriculum Workshop featuring Prof. Dr. Triyatni Martosenjoyo, M.Si as the keynote speaker. This activity aimed to strengthen lecturers’ understanding of Outcome-Based Education (OBE)-based curriculum development and its implementation in the Semester Learning Plan (RPS).
In her presentation, Prof. Triyatni explained that an OBE-based curriculum emphasizes the achievement of measurable Graduate Learning Outcomes. These outcomes must then be translated into Course Learning Outcomes, sub-course learning outcomes, and classroom learning strategies.
“Each course is required to have a Semester Learning Plan designed in accordance with OBE principles, ensuring that learning not only focuses on content mastery but also on the skills, attitudes, and competencies required by graduates in professional and research settings,” she stated.
Workshop participants actively engaged in discussions on the formulation of Graduate Learning Outcomes for the Aquaculture Study Program, course mapping, and the development of Semester Learning Plans aligned with national higher education standards and the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) policy.
The Head of the Aquaculture Study Program, Dr. Andi Aliah Hidayani, S.Si., M.Si., emphasized that this activity serves as an important momentum to ensure that the developed curriculum is capable of producing competent and competitive graduates. “We hope that lecturers will become more proficient in designing OBE-aligned Semester Learning Plans so that classroom learning becomes more structured and of higher quality,” she stated.
Through this workshop, the Aquaculture Study Program reaffirmed its commitment to enhancing the quality of learning and addressing the dynamic challenges of higher education as well as the needs of the fisheries and marine industry.
