Monday, October 28, 2024 – PT Gold Coin Indonesia conducted a “Goes to Campus” event themed “Together Nourishing, Tomorrow” at the Faculty of Marine Science and Fisheries, Hasanuddin University. Gold Coin is a company under the Aboitiz Group, a multinational manufacturing corporation operating across various sectors in multiple countries. Since 1953, Gold Coin has focused on animal feed production and currently employs approximately 3,600 workers across eight countries.
The Gold Coin Indonesia Goes to Campus event was attended by Aquaculture students from various cohorts. Prof. Dr. Ir. Abdul Haris, M.Si., Vice Dean II of FIKP UNHAS, officially opened the event and delivered welcoming remarks. Dr. Andi Aliah Hidayani, S.Pi., M.Si., was also present to welcome representatives from Gold Coin Indonesia.
The exchange of plaques between the two parties symbolized the collaboration between FIKP UNHAS and Gold Coin Indonesia. “Collaboration between higher education institutions and industry is inseparable and mutually interconnected,” stated Prof. Haris in his opening remarks.
Two main presentations were delivered during the event. The first presentation was delivered by Mr. Fauzan Bahri, Assistant Vice President – Business Operation Aquaculture, who discussed the rapidly growing potential of aquaculture in South Sulawesi, particularly in shrimp farming.
The second presentation was delivered by Mr. Erwin Ruzwar, Assistant Vice President – Human Resources, who elaborated on career opportunities for aquaculture students at Gold Coin. These opportunities include independent internship programs as well as the Certified Internship and Independent Study Program (MSIB), which is planned to commence in early 2025.
Gold Coin Indonesia has recently entered the aquaculture sector. Currently, the company is still developing its products, particularly shrimp feed. Various types of feed are offered, which can be adjusted based on their protein content, such as Gold Eco Grow, Gold Eco Forte, Gold Eco Green, Gold Forte, and Gold Supreme, each with different nutritional compositions.
