Thursday, November 30, 2023, students of the Aquaculture Study Program, Faculty of Marine Science and Fisheries, conducted an Integrated Field Practicum for several courses, including Milkfish Culture, Crustacean Culture, Crab Culture, Shrimp Culture, Microalgae Culture, Seaweed Culture, and Aquabusiness.
This Integrated Field Practicum was carried out at two locations: the Brackish Water Aquaculture Center (BBAP) in Mappakalompo Village, Galesong District, Takalar Regency, and the Experimental Pond Installation (ITP) of the Brackish Water Aquaculture Research and Fisheries Extension Center (BRPBAP3) in Punaga Village, Mangarabombang District, Takalar Regency.
The practicum included visits to the facilities at BBAP and ITP BRPBAP3. Several lecturers from the Aquaculture Study Program accompanied the students, including the Head of the Aquaculture Study Program, Dr. Andi Aliah Hidayani, M.Si., Dr. Badraeni, M.Si., Dr. rer. nat. Elmi Zainuddin, M.Sc., Dr. Ir. Gunarto Latama, M.Sc., and Prof. Dr. Ir. Yusri Karim, M.Si.At BBAP, students had the opportunity to visit several laboratory facilities, including the Natural Feed Culture Laboratory. In this laboratory, students were provided with explanations on natural feed culture techniques and the key factors supporting successful natural feed cultivation.
