Aquaculture Study Program (ASP) is one of study program in Fisheries Department, Faculty of Marine Science and Fisheries, Hasanuddin University. As one of leading university in Indonesia, Unhas has organized Fisheries Education with an interest in Aquaculture since January 1968 at Faculty of Agriculture. In 1983 the Fisheries Department joined the Faculty of Animal Husbandry and improved its status with the change of the Faculty of Animal Husbandry to the Faculty of Animal Husbandry and Fisheries. Fisheries Department officially recognized since 1984 based on Surat Keputusan Direktur Jenderal Pendidikan Tinggi No.108/DIKTI/Kep./1984 on August 21, 1984. On August 29, 1996 based on Surat Keputusan Menteri Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan No.036/O/1996 Faculty of Marine Science and Fisheries has been established with two departments, that name Fisheries Department and Marine Science. Fisheries department join with Faculty of Marine Science Department is one of program study and Fisheries based on the decree of No.532/DIKTI/Kep/1996 on December 4, 1996 and since 2017 Fisheries Department was renamed the Department of Fisheries, and one of its study program was the Aquaculture Study Program (ASP) based on the decree of DIRJEN DIKTI DEPDIKNAS N0.25/DIKTI/Kep/1996.
In helping to achieve learning in ASP, Hasanuddin University gave a very important contribution in the development of academic staff, improving student creativity and supporting the learning process. Hasanuddin University has the characteristics of a university known as MARITIM, namely Human, Wise, Religious, Integrity, Strong, Innovative, Independent. Maritime characteristics must be owned by all academic communities in implementing their respective main task and functions, including for the academic community of ASP.
ASP curriculum is designed as a learning activity that is a reference in achieving of vision, mission, goals and objectives. The curriculum application is supported by 24 lecturer staff with 5 aquaculture competency groups and 4 laboratories, that is Nutrition and Feed Technology Laboratories, Parasite and Fish Disease Laboratories, Water Quality and Productivity Laboratories, and Fish Hatchery Technology/Mini Hatchery Laboratories, and Unhas Education Ponds in Bojo Village, Barru with an area of 24 ha. Supporting tools for the learning process, such as lecture schedules, syllabus, GBRP (now Rencana Pembelajaran Semester or RPS) and teaching materials for each subject to be taught and equipped with references used, examples of assignments that will be charged and exam questions to be tested are available as well as parcticum planning documents evaluated with hope that they reflect the relevance between objectives, scope and depth of material, organizing which encourages 4 profiles of graduates of ASP who can apply 10 Learning Outcomes (LO) ASP. Supporting devices for the ASP curriculum can also be accessed through the Learning Management System (LMS), http://lms2.unhas.ac.id/cl1/.
We all hope, through this website, information of ASP can be accessed not only by academic community, but also alumni, stakeholder, prospective students of ASP and observers of aquaculture.
