Field Practice of Aquaculture Students at Bina Bersama Fisheries Group
On May 13, 2023, students from the Aquaculture program at the Faculty of Marine Science and Fisheries, Hasanuddin University, conducted a Field Practice as part of the courses in Feed Management Technology and Advanced Feed Technology Skills. The activity took place at Bumi Tamalanrea Permai Housing Complex, in the Bina Bersama Fisheries Group, which specializes in catfish cultivation. The accompanying lecturers present were Dr. Ir. Edison Saade, M.Sc, and Ms. Kurniati Umrah Nur, M.AppSc(ME)Hons.
During the Field Practice, the students had the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in managing the aquaculture of catfish. The main focus of the practice was on feed management technology and improving feed-related skills. The students were able to apply their theoretical knowledge in a practical setting, learning about various aspects of feed management technology. The students also learned about the making process of fish formulated feed
Under the guidance of the accompanying lecturers, Dr. Ir. Edison Saade and Ms. Kurniati Umrah Nur, the students received valuable supervision and guidance throughout the Field Practice. They had the chance to interact with members of the Perikanan Bina Bersama Fisheries Group, learning about catfish cultivation techniques and handling different aspects of feed management technology required in their daily activities.
The Field Practice provided students with valuable experiences in applying the theoretical knowledge they gained in the classroom to real-world situations. It allowed them to interact with industry professionals, learn practical techniques in catfish cultivation, and enhance their skills in feed management technology.
In conclusion, the Field Practice of Aquaculture Students at Hasanuddin University offered students a valuable opportunity to develop their knowledge and skills in feed technology and feed management as well as enhance their expertise in fish cultivation.
